Under acidic conditions, the formation of p-nitrophenol is directly proportional to the activity of acid phosphatase (ACP). The content of ACP can be determined by measuring the absorbance of the yellow compound of nitrophenol under alkaline conditions. Positive results show that the patient may have the prostatitis.
